Veteran’s Day 2009
The fighting stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The armistice ending 4 years of bloodshed in World War 1 was signed in a railroad car in a French forest on November 11, 1918. This date was originally known as Armistice day and was designated as a holiday to honor WW 1 Veterans. After WW2 and the Korean War, Congress and President Eisenhower changed it to Veteran’s day. It was to be a holiday that honored all veterans. May we honor and thank our veterans not just on November 11th, but every day of the year. I extend my sincerest gratitude to all of our veterans. Thank you for serving our great country and thank you for the sacrifices you made so that we may be free.

Thank you for this tribute to the brave soldiers that defend, and have defended, our freedom. I pray that our country revives again to it’s former state and then becomes even greater.

Thanks to the Veterans. I hope that we are able to defend out freedoms here so their efforts will not have been in vain.

3,000 American troops were killed on 11-11. There was to be an investigation after the war but it was canned so as not to make the generals look badly.

I think the best way to honor those that fought and those that fell would be to ensure that future generations don’t undergo the same experience.
Unfortunately, Washington leadership doesn’t see wars in the same light as I do.
