Paul Ryan at the Health Care Summit
Paul Ryan was one of the few bright spots during the 7 and a half hour long “bipartisan” Health Care Summit. I wasn’t able to watch as much as I wanted because of my work schedule, but what I did hear was more of the same. From the Democrats, it was sob stories and ideas based on emotions. From the Republicans, it was tort reform, buying insurance across state lines and anger at the President and Democrats for shutting them out of the process and breaking promises of transparency.
Even though the Republicans gave some great ideas, we all know that Obama isn’t going to incorporate any of them. This health care summit was designed to make Obama and the Democrats look good and the Republicans look bad. Unfortunately for Obama, I think it backfired on him. Several Republicans, in addition to Paul Ryan, had some great things to say and I’ll try to post some of them as I’m able. I also got the impression that the Republicans knew more about Obama’s plan than Obama did. They definitely came prepared.
If you missed Congressman Ryan, you can listen to him by clicking on this link —> Paul Ryan Health Care
He lays out the reasons why conservatives are opposed to the Obama’s health care plan while at the same time advocating for free market solutions to health care. Let me know what you think.
UPDATE
I found a YouTube video of Paul Ryan at the Health Care Summit.

Thanks for posting the video. That young man does a very good job at laying out the reasons for not federalizing health care. It’s not the first time I have heard him do so and I think it will not be the last.

I heard nothing new at the summit at all but I hope that some of the less informed people did.
Anyone who paid any attention at all can no longer call the republicans the party of NO. Unless they’re a liberal elitist talking head. They seem to think we’re all to stupid to understand whats about to happen to us. Like unfortunate lab rats.
By the same token now the so called conservative republicans can share in the blame for they have been recognized at the scene of the crime.

I have to tell you there is something about Paul Ryan that I really like. I think he is very sincere in his desire to get our nation back on its feet.

I like Ryan, I’ve seen him on the Kudlow Report several times and he really understands economics.

I would like to see Paul Ryan, Tom Coburn, and maybe a couple of other members of Congress who have their heads on straight work on health care reform. At least they would be able to use some common sense about it, instead of going hog wild at changing everything in sight.

I think Congressman Ryan gave a great presentation. Obama has still not offered a rebuttal to Ryan. I wrote a similar article and included a link to Ryan’s economic plan for America. He’s a rising star in the Republican Party for sure!

I thought Ryan mopped the floor with Obama, and he really didn’t have any kind of a reasonable response.
I have to agree with LD. Let’s get some Conservatives together, and have them present a plan. Just keep government out of it, and the market will take care of the rest.

I agree with your post, Obama wasn’t expecting such a high degree of common sense. If Obama truly believed (like he said he did in a TV interview) in a free market system he would have recognized the relevancy of Ryan’s words. Oh that’s right, he’s a liar.
