Is Maxine Waters Trying to Promote Racism?

Democrat Representative Maxine Waters has inserted a provision in to the financial “reform” bill currently before the house that would take us backwards in terms of racial equality and civil rights.  This provision will create diversity czars to promote racial and gender hiring in federal agencies.  I guess getting hired because of your abilities, education, and experience is out the window.  Now the color of your skin and your genitalia will become something employers will be forced to consider.  According to Fox News,

The bill would establish an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion at each federal agency to “ensure equal employment opportunity and the racial, ethnic and gender diversity” of the work force and senior management.

The diversity czars would also aim to “increase the participation of minority-owned and women-owned businesses in the programs and contracts” of each agency and conduct “an assessment” of those goals.

If this remains in the bill and the bill passes, instead of segregated water fountains, bathrooms, and restaurants, we will have segregated job applications.  Instead of signs proclaiming “Irish need not apply” we will see signs saying “White males need not apply”.  How can people in good conscience support something that goes against the very essence of having a color blind society?  I thought skin color was not supposed to matter anymore!  Now we will have an office at every federal agency whose sole purpose is to get people of a certain race or gender hired.  How is it right to have a federal office that will treat people differently because of the color of their skin?

In his “I Have A Dream” speech, Dr. King said “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.“  If this provision passes, we will be moving farther away from Dr. Kings dream.  The color of ones skin, not the content of their character, will be what is judged if they apply for a federal job.

As a side note, how much will it cost the taxpayers to have a new Office of Minority and Women Inclusion for every federal department?

Tea Party Violence Vs. Union Violence

It seems like every time you pick up a newspaper or turn on CNN or MSNBC, there is a “journalist” accusing Tea Party members of being violent.  They cite some angry and threatening voice-mails and the arrests of a few people as proof that the movement is inciting people to violence.  Of course, they ignore or down play the death threats directed at conservatives, such as Jim Bunning or Eric Cantor, and they act like the liberals who threatened to kill President George Bush over the Iraq war never existed.  Let’s face it, there are crazy people in this country on the left and the right, and any large group of people (like the Tea Party movement) is going to have a few crazies in it.  It’s a statistical certainty, but the main stream media is trying to demonize an entire movement because of the existence of a few crazy people.

I have decided to use this same method (and demonstrate the absurdity of liberals and the main stream media) by  demonizing an entire group of people usually associated with the Democrat Party.  And unlike the main stream media, I actually have a large body of evidence to justify my claim that unions incite people to commit violent acts.

Jimmy Carter Thinks I’m a Racist

Jimmy Carter recently said an “overwhelming portion” of those who disagree with Obama are racists. So, if by “overwhelming portion” he means a majority, then there is a good statistical chance that he thinks I’m a racist. What is he basing this claim on? According to an interview with Brian Williams, he basis this claim on the fact that some people in this country are still racist, therefore an overwhelming portion of those who protest against Obama are racists. I know it doesn’t follow logically, but it seems many other liberals are saying similar things these days. I have always been a proponent of limited government and a strict adherence to the Constitution, but now those beliefs somehow make me a racist in the eyes of many liberals.  Why?

I thought Obama was supposed to transcend race? Why are his supporters bringing it up at every turn when there is no evidence of racism?

In the beginning of this video, notice how Brian Williams says that many of the signs carried by protesters had racial themes. In your opinion, are any of the signs shown racist? The only one I think could possibly be taken as racist is

Obama accepts Rep. Joe Wilson’s Apology, Makes an Example of It

Rep. Joe Wilson yelled, “You Lie” during President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress.  While this may have been funny to most of us, it was a little disrespectful to the office of the President, and Rep. Joe Wilson immediately apologized after the speech.  President Obama has accepted the apology from Rep. Wilson, but he has chosen to try and make an example of the situation.  According to Jake Tapper,

After what he called an “excellent and informative Cabinet meeting,” President Obama told reporters that he accepts the apology of Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, who shouted “You lie!” during the president’s address to a joint session of Congress last night.

“Yes I do,” the president said. “I’m a big believer that we all make mistakes. He apologized quickly and without equivocation. And I’m appreciative of that.”

Mr. Obama then turned to use Wilson as something of an example – making this a teachable moment, perhaps – saying that “we have to get to the point where we can have a conversation about big, important issues that matter to the American people without vitriol, without name-calling without the assumption of the worst in other people’s motives.”

Obviously, Obama is trying to use Rep. Wilson to support the liberal idea that anyone who speaks out against the health care bill is being illogical and mean. What I find startling about this is that Obamacare supporters are in fact the ones who have been vitriolic, calling people names and trying to discredit anyone that disagrees with them.  Obama’s supporters have called people racists, Nazis, mobsters, brown shirts political terrorists, and evil mongers.  Aren’t these vitriolic insults?

Obama himself has told people who disagree with him to shut up and get out of his way.  He has also said, “if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”  Does this type of language help us “get to the point where we can have a conversation about big, important issues that matter to the American people”?  Rep. Wilson may have been in the wrong by letting his emotions momentarily get the best of him, and he promptly apologized for it.  Have Obama and his supporters apologized for all the insults they have recently hurled at conservatives?  Maybe Obama should start looking at himself and his own party if he really wants to stop all the vitriol and name calling.

Are You a Racist?

racistWhen Obama won the 2008 election we heard that he had transcended race.   A black man had been elected president and the highest of glass ceilings had been broken.  Race, it seemed, was no longer a major issue in our country.  A new era had been ushered in.  What the heck happened?  It seems like people are being called racists by a myriad of public figures on a daily basis.  Why isn’t anyone talking about all that transcending race stuff anymore?

Racism seems to have been redefined in recent months. It no longer means judging someone by the color of their skin.  It now means disagreeing with Obama and the Democrats.  If you support Obama you are a virtuous, enlightened, knowledgeable soul.  If you disagree with him, you are a racist, Nazi, brown shirt, member of a mob, and (insert your favorite liberal insult here).

Jonah Goldberg, the author of Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Change, wrote a piece for National Review Online where he disused the racism claims.  According to Goldberg,

Another Scripted Q&A at an Obama Town Hall

If you watched Obama’s town hall meeting in New Hampshire, I’m sure you saw little Julia Hall ask the President a question.

We can all agree that this young girl was cute and gave Obama a perfect setup to talk about those who have been protesting the health care bill. However, it seems that she was a plant.  This is a pattern starting to
