On January 19th, Massachusetts will hold a special election to fill the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat.  If this seat is won by the Republican candidate, Scott Brown, Obama will no longer have a 60 seat majority in the Senate o do his will.  This could prevent the current health care bill from passing a final cloture vote in the senate and becoming law!

Now I know what most of you are thinking, ” How could a Republican win Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat?  Never in a million years!”  I must admit I was thinking the same thing until I saw a new poll from Public Policy Polling.  It shows that Republican Scott Brown is now 1 point ahead of Democrat Martha Coakley.  This is within the margin of error and makes this race a toss up between the 2 candidates.  This is startling to me and shows how even the people of an extremely liberal state are becoming angry with the Democrat controlled Congress and the White House.  Another shocking fact in this poll is that Republican Scott Brown is winning 17% of Democrats in the state while Democrat Martha Coakley is only winning 6% of the GOP vote.  Independents are also preferring Brown over Coakley, 63% to 31% respectively.  This is a winnable race for the Republican!

If Brown pulls off this election, the repercussions will be huge.  It would most likely cause the defeat of the 2000+ page health care bill, the job killing Cap and Trade bill, and many of the liberal/socialist legislative priorities of Obama and the Democrats in Congress.  This election could quite literally save our Republic from enormous new debt, a destroyed health care system, and a disastrous job killing environmental policy.

We need to support Scott Brown in this election because the effects of it are so far reaching.  If you live in Mass, it is vital that you show up to vote on January 19th.  If you have friends or family in Mass, please ask them to go to the polls and vote for Brown.  This is huge.  We can turn January 19th into the day when Obama’s socialist policies are rejected by one of the most liberal states in this country!  If you would like more information on Scott Brown, you can visit his website by clicking here.  If you would like to donate money to his campaign (even 5 or 10 dollars will help), you may do so by clicking here.

Liberty, I have been watching this race and it looks like Brown is just an honest guy that believes in limited government and pro free market principles. He is probably a refreshing change of pace for the people of that state. His opponent is getting Bill Clinton to stump for her this Friday. Hmmmm I wonder why not the “anointed one?”

It is so encouraging to see this race turning around. Now, all we have to do is see how the Democrats plan to steal it.

I don’t understand why the Republicans are so scare of the Dems having 60 seats… They have had it for a year now and are too concerned with infighting to pass any meaningful legislation. If they can’t even work together with a majority why are people even scared?

Of course I belong to no party, so I don’t get why they exist anyway. Parties just get in the way of politics.
