Representative Louise Slaughter (D-NY) is the House rules chairwoman. She, along with the Democratic leadership, has designed a rule regarding the health care bill that trashes the Constitution and openly shows the Fascist tendencies of the Democrat party. This rule, called the Slaughter Solution (after her name, not because it slaughters the Constitution) will consider the Senate health care bill to have passed the House if a correction to the bill is passed. For example, the house can vote on a separate bill that removes the “Cornhusker Kickback” from the Senate bill and by doing so, the entire Senate bill will be considered to have passed. Sound very democratic doesn’t it? Vote on a portion of the bill and by default, you passed the entire bill.
This will allow the Democrats to pass health care by only requiring lawmakers to vote on correcting a portion of the bill that everyone is already in favor of correcting. Then, Democratic members of the house can tell their constituents that they didn’t vote for the health care bill, but only voted to remove the abortion funding or the Cornhusker Kickback. This may help Democrats look better in their campaign commercials, but it is a direct violation of the supreme law of the land.
Democrat Senator Mark Warner admitted that government run health care is unconstitutional. This video is almost a month old and I can’t believed I missed it because Warner is one of my Senators. It reminds me of how poorly we in the Commonwealth of Virginia are represented in the Senate. In this video, Senator Warner is asked what article and section of the Constitution gives the government the authority to take over the health care industry. He responds by trying to discredit the person who asked the question. Then, he brilliantly says that people don’t have a Constitutional right to a telephone. Yes you read that correctly. A former governor and current United States Senator responds by saying that we don’t have a Constitutional right to a phone. How are we supposed to turn our country around when our political leaders can’t even answer simple questions? How can we trust them when they knowingly violate the Constitution that they swore an oath to uphold?
Poor Arlen Specter. He just keeps getting yelled at. In a previous post, I showed a video where Specter was holding a town hall and was shouted at. It has happened to him again, but this time after being yelled at, he claims he is encouraging Constitutional rights. Really? I can’t think of any of the rights listed in the Constitution that he is encouraging by supporting the Democrat/Obama agenda.
Nowhere in the Constitution is Congress given the authority to control our health care. Article 1, section 8 lists all the powers of Congress. Health care is simply not there. This means,
It’s seems that on a daily basis a new story comes out of Washington showing our government’s policy of ignoring the Constitution. I say it’s a policy because there is so much that is blatantly unconstitutional, yet Congress, the President, and the Judicial branch don’t bat an eye to it. Both political parties are guilty of this, but never before has so much been happening in so little time. To name just a few recent instances, we’ve had the TARP program (Bush started it, Obama expanded and distorted it), the Stimulus, the Cap and Trade bill, the pending Health Care bill, the Cash for Clunkers program, Obama’s desire to have judges who rule with ‘empathy’, numerous Czars who are not appointed by Congress, government ownership and seizure of private businesses, turning bankruptcy law upside-down in order to pay back the unions in the GM bankruptcy, and on and on it goes. If you can think of some more, leave a comment and maybe we can get a good collection going.
