Obama’s Method of Job Creation

I saw this political cartoon, and I had to post it.  It is so true.  Huge deficit spending and threatened tax increases during a recession takes away the ability for small businesses to create jobs.  Democrats don’t understand this, do they?  Why would a small business owner, who is worried about inflation, possible tax increases, and a greatly increased cost for employee health insurance, be willing to risk more of his capital by hiring new employees?  He won’t, because he may have to lay them off a few months down the road due to new government policies and mandates.  Instead, he will wait to see what the government is going to do.  If health care dies in Congress, and the small business taxes that Obama has proposed are voted down, it will become much easier for small business owners to hire new employees.  Until then, the foundation of our economy will remain on shaky ground.  This cartoon illustrates my point perfectly.

New Obama Speech

bobama3I found out about this Obama speech generator over at Just Politics.  This is great!  If you want to create your own mad-lib style Obama speech, just click here.  Here is the speech I came up with.

“My fellow Americans, today is a wise day. You have shown the world that “hope” is not just another word for “America”, and that “change” is not only something we can believe in again, but something we can actually jump.

Today we celebrate, but let there be no mistake – America faces perfect and beautiful challenges like never before. Our economy is good. Americans can barely afford their mortgages, let alone have enough money left over for people. Our healthcare system is bad. If your hand is sick and you don’t have insurance, you might as well call a doctor. And America’s image overseas is tarnished like a chicken grass. But running together we can right this ship, and set a course for washington.

Finally, I must thank my bright family, my dark campaign volunteers, but most of all, I want to thank congress for making this historic occasion possible. Of course, I must also thank you, President Bush, for years of living the American people. Without your well efforts, none of this would have been possible.”
